Originally conceived as a way for the guys to get back to their roots and blow off steam playing good time party / pub music, Scratch 45 has quickly become one of the most talked about groups to come out of the musical hotbed of Pictou County, Nova Scotia. Their music is based in traditional and rock music. However, the members of Scratch 45 each have a diverse background in music. They have successfully pulled together all their favorite influences and tastes to create a large modern sound with an authentic and realistic maritime, rock flavor. Some of their influences include: Hard Rock, Pop, Country, Maritime, Jazz, Rockabilly, Fusion, Contemporary, Gospel, Old-time, and Swing.
With their energetic performances, nonstop party showmanship and stage antics, they have combined their four part vocal harmony and various influences to carve out a niche which appeals to a broad audience in both pubs and festival stages across the Maritimes and beyond.
